About CIGR

The International Commission of Agricultural Engineering (CIGR) was founded in 1930 in Belgium and aims at networking regional and national associations of agricultural engineering.

CIGR is an international, non-governmental, non-profit organization providing a networking system for regional and national societies of agricultural engineering as well as private and public companies and individuals all over the world.

The main aims of CIGR are:

• to stimulate the development of science and technology in the field of Agricultural Engineering;

• to encourage education, training, and mobility of young professionals;

• to encourage inter-regional mobility;

• to facilitate the exchange of research results and technology;

• to represent the profession at a world-wide level;

• to work towards the establishment of new associations, both at national and regional levels, and the strengthening of existing ones;

• to perform any other activity that will help to develop Agricultural Engineering and Allied Sciences.
