The International Commission of Agricultural Engineering (CIGR) was founded in 1930 in Belgium and aims at networking regional
and national associations of agricultural engineering.
CIGR is an international, non-governmental, non-profit organization providing a networking system for regional and national
societies of agricultural engineering as well as private and public companies and individuals all over the world.
The main aims of CIGR are:
to stimulate the development of science and technology in the field of Agricultural Engineering;
to encourage education, training, and mobility of young professionals;
to encourage inter-regional mobility;
to facilitate the exchange of research results and technology;
to represent the profession at a world-wide level;
to work towards the establishment of new associations, both at national and regional levels, and the strengthening of existing ones;
to perform any other activity that will help to develop Agricultural Engineering and Allied Sciences.
